The Role: Corporate Analyst-Analyst

 

The Location: Taipei

The Team:

The team covers corporate and infrastructure credit ratings in Taiwan. We have a team of six analysts and one research assistant, managed by one analytical manager. We have strong working relationship with S&P Global Ratings’ APAC corporate and infrastructure ratings team.

  • You will have the chance to present your own credit view based on the criteria to internal audience (credit rating committees) and external audience (issuers/investors/media).
  • You may have chance to relocate to Hong Kong office of S&P Global Ratings after a few years of experience at Taiwan Ratings.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop analytical skills and knowledge with corporate credit rating methodology.
  • Collection and analysis of data dealing with a wide range of issues related to the assigned credits/sectors.
  • The analyst is going to cover about 12 credits on Taiwan Ratings’ Taiwan-based credits in various sectors.
  • Communication with the issuers of assigned credits via face-to-face discussion with the senior management team of the issuers.
  • Assembly data and prepare written credit rating reports in English and oral presentations (in English or in Mandarin) to the rating committee.
  • Answering and resolving issuers/investors/media’s analytical needs related to the assigned credits/sectors.
  • Monitoring the change of the credit quality of the assigned credits through daily collected information (such as the issuers’ major announcements) and the issuers’ quarterly financial reports.
  • Help to assist on corporate spreadsheet update.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Business bachelor or above degree with 3-5 years’ experience in the financial services industry; Alternately, significant direct experience in the corporate finance could mitigate the degree requirement.
  • Strong English capabilities in writing and speaking are essential.
  • Have good understanding of financial markets and business environments on Taiwan, including implications for Taiwan Ratings and S&P Global Ratings analytical products and services.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills and a customer-service orientation.
  • Work effectively in a team-oriented, global, and multi-cultural environment.
  • Have a strong proficiency with Excel and the ability to work with financial models, financial data, and financial statement analysis.
  • Possess the ability to think analytically and possess strong problem-solving skills.
